Today was our first end of season final and it was a day that some people will remember for a while. Well the OB4 of Paul first blew a belt in the first heat was out for the next then blew a turnbuckle in the third and lost a wheel in the Final. Tony wiped out a barrier and snapped the rear drive shaft on the Serpent making his day come to a halt, but with a bit of help from another member he got his old HPI back for the day and went on to gain a few points that he may have needed to stay in Front. Ted ran a clean race day and got first in every heat and final. Tony showed a bit of speed in the electric class with his new 3000 NiMH batteries and one the day. The other races and racers were quite fun to watch with a few wheel losses run aways and the odd winged HPI. Every one who attended had a lot of fun showing that next season should be a good one. Trophies will be handed out on Tuesday night and some new classes shall be organised for next season.

We had a night meet this meeting and aside of the mosquito's and moths the night was entertaining. Hilly was running his new Serpent with RB .12 rear exhaust. It was going quite quick especially when the ever popular GWS servo decided to stop working and twitch continuously on full noise. With Hilly's only option being try to keep it on its wheels he tried to run the track until the fuel ran out. He failed and after the second corner crashed into the barrier on the pit straight and sat upside down with quite a high revving motor gradually picking up speed. It was snuffed out after about 10 seconds by Arty. It is well run in now. Overall the rest of the race meet was uneventful except when Ted decided to try to launch his Z10 over the drivers stand with a 10/10 for effort and a 1/10 for success. He crashed into the Computer table ripping his pipe off and ending his race. All other classes ran cleaner than normal. Only some slight shunting. Next meet is our First season Final on the 29th April. Should be fun. Every one is looking forward to the Enduro. A few guys are going up to take some of the Rocky Cup trophies back to home base.

It was a good day for racing with a clear stinking hot typical summer day. Our first heat of the day saw Paul's OB4 blow a rear belt and front wheel drive was definetely a problem so he bowed out for the day. The day was loaded with major carnage in the electrics saw a completely flattened ford pace car when T-boned by Paul's HRT commodore. Ted's cop car was the main target and all who came near it was in for a bit of nudging. Ted's nitro was next to go with a stripped spur gear and a collapsed main shaft bearing putting him out. In the electric's Mark put on a bit of pace with an illegal modified motor causing major speed related problems, he soon blew his ESC and that ended the day for him. Most other drivers and their cars only suffered minor problems and it was a real fun day indeed. The highlight's of the day were the double drive over the top of Ted's car by the HRT commodores of Paul & Tony. This was thoroughly enjoyed by all who saw it. The buggy track has been laid out and upon approval of the local council the jumps will be put in this month. Our club has a display in the shopping centre this week so hopefully we shall get some more members shortly here is a pic.

Our last race meet was a pretty good day with all who attended enjoying themselves immensely. Ted Hill decided that his car actually need servo's to steer. The nitro classes were a who can keep their cars running the longest with a few mishaps in the pits costing a few of the faster drivers a couple of places. In the electric class it was once again a show of muscle with the two HRT commodores of Paul Howard & Tony Hill showing everyone how it is done with a 1 2 finish. Paul came home with a win in all races and Tony finished second for the day. We are slowly getting a few more members flowing in with the electric class starting to get quite a following. We had a display on down at the local Motorcycle Clubs Car & Bike show with a trophy for best display and the club picking up a few vouchers. We ran a few buggies near our display and kicked up a bit of dirt for the crowd to see. The day was much enjoyed and worth our while. Our Enduro Challenge is coming up and nomination forms can be downloaded from the endure link in the menu.

Well we have finished our race Season for this year and now we have a bit of track maintenance to do. The driver's will certainly be repairing any damage and tweaking their cars over the break for the next year of races. Our first race meet is on the 21-01-2001 and it should be a very interesting meet. We will also be finding out if we can lease the whole venue off of the council which means we will be able to increase the size of the On-road track to include a Circuit Car class in the near future. This will surely bring some new members in from surrounding areas as this is a popular class for some. Will update after meeting with local council when we find out if we can lease the venue.
